It is time consuming, but not as much as you might think if you play it well. Only real advice I could give you would be to use a trainer or something, but then you wouldn't be doing it legit, would you? But yeah, it's annoying how long it takes, since stratagems don't seem to get a good number of K. You can predefine a route to get most of them in one go. If you want a fast marshal uprank, just Join Battles as a Free Officer with the Ruler in your joining side as a participant. It would be nice to have a cheat code for this but well i guess. . I'm just not much of a grinder.
