The only way I figured out how to fix it was by resetting the sound controls to default. Also it has no jump feature. As NeuroSplicer stated, this game is gory: legs and arms get cut off, lots of blood spatters, amongst other gory things happen. In fact I really want to play a game like that and I hope someone makes it. Story and characters first of all are instantly forgetable and setting itself is uninteresting. In the beginning you don't get the bladed apparatus as you see on the cover, so the game seems to not be as fun as it could be, but just hold out - you'll get your blade soon enough. As far as the gameplay is concerned, its pretty solid, combat and movement is smooth, and weapons and enemy are well balanced with each other.

Cover system works fine, but at times it can get in the way since cover and sprinting use same key, making you enter cover when you dont need it leaving you wide open for enemy attacks. Though the story-plot appears like a bad B-movie, your character fights with a special, and very cool boomerang-weapon, the glaive. All of the boss fights were not very well designed imo, they felt too standard without giving me any thrills and some them can take too much time before you undersatnd how to take them down, theyre also pretty easy if you dont play like noob. It happened a few times which set me back a chapter or two. The saving grace of the game comes from the fact that it is, on occasion, fun. I learned the hard way half way through the game to back up my game saves. It is an impressive Action, Shooter video game.
The graphics are great, the game is long, and on easy, it's still quite challenging. Since the game enjoys or suffers a quick recovery cycle, you are almost never in danger of immediate death - but this hardly impends any adrenaline from flooding your body. If you're a working person who has to budget the time you have to play games, then pass on this one. The combat is very uninspired and tedious but at the same time unique because of the glaive and Dark Sector is sort of a paradoxical game. So you end up using the Glave mostly to look cool, homepage not because it's a good weapon. Like when you sprint you can't turn? This weapon acts as a boomerang, can damage and dismember enemies as well as capture various elements for greater effects. Also, fighting areas had no really big suprise as the second you entered into a place with chest high walls, you could mentally prepare yourself for the fight before it started.
One small yet cool thing i liked was that you can only use picked up weapons from enemies for a short period of time before they self destruct. Like when you sprint you can't turn? The developers perfected its use in the game. The glave which will be your main weapon and tool is a cool gimmick and works very well and controls nicely. This issue is constant and will not fix itself even on a restart of the game. After his mutation Hayden sets out to halt the spread of the virus and destroy those who infected him. At times game can have cool spooky atmosphere.
